Labatut Group, in collaboration with POINT.P and Hyliko, deploys the first green hydrogen retrofit road tractor on French roads.
This is a major step forward for this innovation, which is capable of providing a serious and rapid solution to the decarbonization of heavy mobility, in particular road haulage.
Putting this road vehicle on the road means entering the final stretch before the industrialization of the retrofit of this model for Hyliko.
The fruit of more than two years of collaborative R&D, the development of this tractor was made possible by close collaboration between :
- POINT.P, which has been committed to a policy of decarbonizing its activities since 2013,
- Hyliko, technological and industrial partner, specializing in the decarbonization of heavy mobility,
- Labatut Group with its historic brand Labatut LVI, which has been involved in this eco-responsible approach for over 15 years with the rental of green energy industrial vehicles with driver.
Labatut Group is delighted to share this project with the Berto Group, which for its part has devoted its energies to commissioning a 26-tonne flat-bed crane.
"This vehicle was designed to be fully operational in record time," emphasizes Pierre Labatut. "Labatut Group's technical teams and Hyliko's engineers were fully committed to the project, surpassing all initial apprehensions with remarkable success."
The green hydrogen road tractor launched by Labatut Group offers a number of advantages:

Recycling and innovation:
- This tractor is the result of the transformation of a 2017 diesel model into a hydrogen-powered vehicle.
- The assembly, reassembly, certification and reliability process was completed in less than a year, demonstrating the efficiency and speed of our approach to more sustainable mobility.

Zero emissions
- Equipped with an electric motor and a hydrogen fuel cell, this zero-emission vehicle releases no fine or ultrafine particles, making a significant contribution to reducing air pollution.

Robust performance
- 450-kilometre range
- Recharge time approx. 20 minutes
This tractor provides performance comparable to that of fossil-fuelled vehicles, while offering POINT.P and its customers totally carbon-free transport without compromising service quality.

Driving comfort
- After our driver Bocar's impatience during the start-up phase, he has completely embraced this new technology: driving comfort, silence, ergonomics.
It's out of the question now for him to drive a combustion vehicle...!
Labatut Group Launches France's First Hydrogen-Powered Retrofit Road Tractor

Bocar Diallo, our experienced driver, took an active part in our innovative project, working closely with our industry experts Guillaume Lacombe and David Léon. Together, they contributed to every stage of the project.
The truck is TOP! It's silent, vibration-free and very smooth to drive, making it a real pleasure to drive. The change from diesel or gas tractors is radical. I'm very happy to be part of this great project, and a big thank you to Groupe LABATUT for this opportunity!
Prior to official commissioning, Bocar carried out extensive on-track testing to guarantee quality and reliability. Today, they share their enthusiasm for this achievement.
We're very proud to see this vehicle take to the road, the fruit of the work of passionate project owners with whom we've been in contact for several months, and who share the same idea of decarbonizing transport.
As an operator, particularly for POINT.P, I'm honored to contribute to the goal of total decarbonization by 2025. We must do all we can to preserve our future generations!

Towards a Decarbonized Future
We have modestly supported Hyliko in their R&D efforts. This tractor marks the start of a stronger partnership that we plan to develop with our long-standing customer POINT.P, as well as in the market in general. We're convinced we'll be able to meet our customers' high expectations for this energy of the future.
This ambitious project is only in its first stage, and we warmly thank POINT.P for its commitment to hydrogen and eco-responsibility. Their ambition paves the way for exciting future projects. Without POINT.P, we wouldn't have been able to launch our hydrogen project so effectively.
We're thrilled to be launching this hydrogen project with POINT.P, with whom we've shared a very active eco-responsible approach for over ten years, a sincere sharing of values, and a common desire to decarbonize our activities. The future of super-green hydrogen and the ability to retrofit vehicles make this project even more efficient and promising.
